Webinar on U.S. Embassies’ Grants Programs

The U.S. Embassy to the Holy See’s Public Affairs Officer, Tanya Salseth, addressed participants in the International Union of Superiors General’s  webinar, “Partnering with U.S. Embassies on Grants and Fundraising”, on March 29, 2017.  She discussed the various grant opportunities offered by U.S. Embassies around the world, and the ways religious can increase their chances of receiving these grants.

During the webinar, Ms. Salseth identified three key steps for applying successfully for grants from U.S. Embassies: (1) find the correct information about grants offered by U.S. Embassies; (2) contact the Embassy’s point person for grants about submitting a proposal; and (3) draft and submit a grant proposal to the local U.S. Embassy. She noted that the best grant proposals demonstrate how the proposed project or event’s goals relate to the local U.S. Embassy’s goals and to United States’ foreign policy.
