Ambassador Hackett remembers heroes of Haiti earthquake

On the sixth anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Ambassador Kenneth Hackett wrote a blog post for Caritas Internationalis, a worldwide federation of the Catholic charities, remembering the “unsung heroes” of the quake’s aftermath. The Ambassador, who was President of Catholic Relief Services (one of the members of the federation) at the time, recalled local relief workers who put aside their own grief and trauma to respond immediately, as well as the donations that poured in, and the people who gathered to organize them. The blog post can be found here.
