Ambassador Hackett reflects on the 2010 Haiti earthquake

In January 2010, an earthquake devastated Haiti, killing or injuring thousands and creating a humanitarian crisis. At the time, Ambassador Kenneth Hackett headed Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and oversaw its immediate aid to the victims, ultimately providing nearly 500 personnel. On the 6th anniversary of the earthquake, Ambassador Hackett visited Vatican Radio to discuss the “tragic and traumatic” event, how the world came together to help, and his hopes for the future of Haiti. The interview can be found on Vatican Radio’s website.
