Ambassador Gingrich meets with the Community of Sant’Egidio

On February 5, Ambassador Gingrich met with the Community of Sant’Egidio at their headquarters in Rome, where they explained their efforts to combat trafficking in persons and their mediation and interreligious dialogue programs in Africa and the Middle East. Sant’Egidio has 70,000 members around the world. They work in 25 countries in Africa where they strengthen communities and bring parties together through mediation and dialogue for peace. Their Humanitarian Corridors program is a joint initiative between Catholic and Protestant organizations and the Italian government that helps refugees avoid becoming victims of trafficking.
